Carbon Filter Help

Hello fellow growers,

First off sorry if this is in the wrong category or something, im new to this site. Anyways I want to start growing like 1 plant in my room but my mom is really against everything hahaha. basically shell have my head mounted on a wall if she found out. so i cut a compartment in the back of a drawer i have and i plan to grow in there. i am aware the best way to circumvent the smell is to use carbon filter fans. however, to my research they seem quite expensive and i dont exactly want to spend the money so i was wondering if these would work instead: http://www.staniosindustrial.com/Pr...F&zmam=38232866&zmas=1&zmac=8&zmap=18WWSA350F basically i have a weller fume extractor for my soldering iron and it comes with 3 of these carbon filter sheets. i was wondering if anyone else new if i could use them instead. like tape them over a cpu fan and them have that work as the filter instead as more of a cost saver.

You wanna build yourself a little ducting for the fan. Then just take a piece or two pieces or whatever and stack them over the duct opening. I like a little space to help the fan draw. You can burn out a fan easy this way.

Then just fuck around with temp and humidity. This will slow down most cpu fans, because they don't have much back pressure [which is seldom listed] cfm ain't everything.

hahah now i just gotta work up the balls to do this. honestly shed be the mom that would smell it, talk to me about it and then call the police like right away and then id have to book my ass to like a park and get rid of it and then run and hide hahahaha

If your still living at home with mom and she ain't cool you probably shouldn't grow in her house.
This could turn out really bad for you. You could lose you moms respect. You will be putting her at risk. Depending on how "un-cool" your mom is, she might just call the police on your ass.

The DIY carbon filter might be the least of your worries.
