Capitalism: A Love Story

Just wondering if anyone has seen this? I watched it last night and must admit it wasn't what I expected from Michael Moore. It is certainly his least biased as far as Democrats vs. Republicans goes as he hammers both sides of the aisle. Don't get me wrong. Moore doesn't try to hide his personal opinion of unchecked Capitalism. I myself even while leaning left do not agree with the extremity of his views in that respect.

I did however feel the majority of his take at least on the banking industry and bailouts was spot on. I think even conservatives would agree with Moore regarding what happened.

As a whole i felt it was a very informative documentary that I think anyone despite their political leanings would find interesting.

Michael Moore was on the Joy Behar show a week or so ago and he was hammering Obama! lol! I'm glad that this crazy fucker is finally starting to see that both parties suck ass! All in all I have to say it was pretty good but just like any 2 1/2 hour documentary on such a complicated subject, it was lacking in substance. He is a master at evoking the emotional response he wants you to have. I was pretty pissed off about half way through it and I had to remind myself that this is a one-sided presentation. I do agree with a lot of it but I think it's important to keep it in perspective.........this is Michael Moore. He is an entertainer and has some pretty extreme views on a lot of subjects. He is also a known truth bender (I'm being kind). I enjoyed it though. :bigjoint:

Michael Moore is an ultra hardcore super mega Liberal first and foremost before any party affiliation which he "claims" not to have. Though I think its pretty safe to say he doesn't vote Republican. In defense of this film being less party biased than his previous ones. Its the first one done (that I know of) that wasn't made during a period of Republican control in the government. So that could have something to do with it.

You are right that he has some extreme views though. I make no apologies that I lean left and even I WTF many of his views.

*edit* What the hell are you doing watching Joy Behar? :bigjoint:

Ha! I don't watch Joy Behar but I occasionally watch HLN in the morning while I'm having my coffee. There was a thing about it on there.......yeah, that's it.

Gigantic ditto to this! :hump:

I haven't seen the documentary yet, though. I've got my NetFlix account on hold till we recover from the myriad expenses incurred while buying our house (escrow should close in a few days, woo hoo!), and I don't buy DVDs when I can use NetFlix unless it's something I know I'm going to watch over and over. So Moore's latest will have to wait another month or two for my viewing. Though I do agree with some of Moore's views, my eyes often roll at many of the things he claims. Gotta take him with a grain of salt. It's all politics and money. ;)

i really liked this movie. i learned some things that i didnt even know *could* happen. like the whole dead peasants thing...i didnt know that was even allowed, and it completely shocked me. and i mean, it was pretty funny to see him standing outside of AIG with his megaphone wanting to make a citizens arrest :D i like that he tries to provide a bit of comic relief, because the issues in the movie are really intense sometimes...that little bit of funniness is good to break tension from the crazy issues.
