i would by a cheapo analog meter at the store first before you spring for the humidifier. Make sure it's not a problem with the coil in your digital one. Also, I would go ahead and get a little room-size humidifier. They only cost about $15 dollars and they are much more efficient than the bowl and towel method.

Do you have plants in your room yet? My humidity was really low before the grow, but after you get some growth and transpiration in there the humidity naturally goes up. I think I had around the same humidity as you, now it gets up to mid 40's%.

How old are your plants. Early on you want to keep it humid, but after they have put out the third or fourth set of true leaves the low humidity shouldn't be an issue. Once they get bigger they will be releasing so much water you will be trying to lower the humidity.

thanks for all the info, right now their just seedlings so i was worried about the humidity being to low, but the second set of leaves are just barely starting to come out soo. Even soo i was at walgreens and bought a humidifier for 20 bucks and raised it to 25% overnight.
