Can't Get Buds Dry Enough To Smoke

Hey, I am having trouble getting my buds to dry enough. I hung dry in a tent i made for drying, with an exhaust fan, keeping the humidity from 45-60 percent, its on the low end once the buds are dry. However as i add new plants and buds it goes back up to 55-60 percent.

I am burping my jars in the same tent. Is the humidity too high to be burping jars?

Most big buds take about a week -10 days to dry, then in the paper bags for 3-5 days, and most my buds have been in jars, doing about 18 hours in jars, and about 6 hours with the lid off, filled about 1/3-1/2 way full. After a couple weeks of burping, they still dont burn in a joint well. Any suggestions?

my guess is that i need the humidity very low when burping, does that sound like a plan?

Why do you have them in the tent? The jar is probably to warm to pull the moisture out of the buds. I would take them out of the tent.

the tent getts from 65-70, I have them in a tent so i can filter out the air with an exhaust fan for air flow and odor control. Maybe open a window? Its winter here in michigan. I will try the cardboard trick, thanks.

i hang em till the outside of the buds is crispy and dry.. then throw them onto a big rubbermaid tub and put the lid on... wait a half day open the lid.. they will be moist again.. equalizing the moisture level in the bud.. basically pulling the moisture out of the inside of the bud and spreading it out.. leave the lid off for a half day, the buds will be dry again... repeat the steps, possibly moving the buds around in the tub a bit letting the ones from the bottom to surface and dry out too.
This method does not address the smell issue, but you could always open the lid to the bin and put it in the room with the odour control.. (thats how canadians spell odor by the way.. =) ) I have had great results with this method..

just keep drying them.. the longer it takes to cure, the smoother the smoke should be...
