Can't disable Email Alerts

I've unchecked the box "and receive emails" under the notifications tab in preferences but I keep on getting emails. Is there a way to stop this as it's very annoying receiving 50 emails a day over nothing but an alert.

did you try clearing your cache, cookies and deleting history? that's helped me on some sites.

in addition to this method below you can click "unsubscribe from rollitup emails" or something similar found in the emails themselves

your name top right > preferences >

  • Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...
and receive email notifications of replies

That's all unchecked. It's odd. I get one for some threads but not others. I just hit the disable all emails in the unsubscribe from another email I just got, so we'll see if that does it. Obviously, something is not working properly.

It was random. For instance, I never got an alert email about this thread, but I was getting them from a couple of different threads I had posted in (but not all of them). Since I hit the unsubscribe button, I haven't gotten an email, but there's only been a reply in this thread and on other one.

So far, so good.

I think that did it. There's been replies on 4 different threads and I haven't gotten a single email on any of them. So apparently unsubscribing from all emails from an email notification is the only way to get it to work.
