So when you make cannabutter, how much do you add to get an effect? Im kinda confused on what you do. Do you just add the butter to a recipe and then you get high off that butter?

Thanks!

I just made my first cana butter. What I did was replace the oil in brownies with the butter. It seemed to work just fine. The taste was a bit buttery, but OK. Next I'm trying coconut oil. People say that's good, too.

Did you make your butter yet? How?

There was one posting, I think YouTube, maybe, that I would like to try. but I would like to hear someone confirm it before wasting my weed. They simmered the bud in water only for 3 to 4 hours, strained and filtered it. Then they put the butter in and simmered for 1/2 hour. Into the frig with a green soup and out with a nice clear chunk green butter.

That was the best (looking) butter I've seen. I've been thinking of ways to save the weed if it doesn't work.

This smoke I'm enjoying right now is making me a little talkativeo_O. Time to sit back and pass the pipe,bongsmilie(:o_O:sleep:

Thanks for the reply! I have not made the butter yet, I still have to let my bud dry out a little bit longer, unfortunetly lol. Im glad you had a good first experience! I wont be able to "use" marijuana for like 2 weeks, im getting my yearly drug test and cant use at this time.

Decarb your weed before making the butter. I bake mine for 1 hour at 240F and then cool it and make coconut oil with it. 1 tablespoon will work for about 3 to 4 hours but other people are wrecked all night from it so it is very subjective.

Thank you for the reply! How much weed did you use? And if I were to use butter, how much should I use (or coconut oil too)?

Thanks!
Example:
  • 1 oz Prime tops
  • 1 pound of butter/jar coconut oil
  • make cookies with 1/2 cup of cannabutter for best results
  • 3/4 cup and I've found the cookies too strong for me
Hope this helps good luck, and don't forget to decarb first!

I did try mash potatoes once
Highlander, that sounds like you were in on a thread Roger A. Shrubber and I were talking about about it. He got me started on a couple of things. One was cana butter on mashed potatoes. Like he said it tastes a little like broccoli. Now I use it in a lot of my cooking. Don't know how I ended up being the family cook but that's the way it is. You have to go kind of easy on it though. It's a bit overpowering:?.
