Cannabis Oil/THC oil as an alternative to smoking, any experiences?

I have used this method for 40 years. I had eaten others people's Alice B Toklas's edibles and wasn't impressed. I had no clue why mine were more potent than most. I found out a few years back. I would clean an Oz of good herb and brown in butter in a skillet. Dump the Oz into a single batch of brownie mix and stir well. Had no idea what decarbing was so it was pure luck. The taste was mediocre but much better than Peyote.

I had one friend who ate one and two hours later fell asleep on the toilet. Had another gal friend who flipped out and thought she was dying.

They were fire.
That's why the firecrackers were so good.

I have a stirrer but it's not a heated one. I use it when making colloidal silver but I'm good with decarbing the oil and stirring by hand one in a while. I also use 10% MCT to thin it a bit.

I was going back thru some of the older threads and found this one. Thought I'd add two cents worth to it.

Not too long ago I saw where they are decarbing on a hot plate. I don't remember weather they used glass or stainless steal. They set the hotplate to 242. The oil was put on the glass on the hotplate and a fork was dragged thru it until the fine bubbles stopped. I think the website was cannabishomesciences.com. They are doing some good stuff there.

Peyote tastes like chewing up vicodin

I don't smoke, But when I do smoke weed it makes it hard to breathe for a couple of hours. So I plan on getting one of these and using coconut oil with it and storing it in brown glass bottles with the eyedroppers.

Alpha420 Decarboxylator & Infuser Machine, 1.2L, Stainless Steel, Immersion Blender, Heating Unit, Thermostat, Decarb up to 1 Ounce, Makes 2.5-5 Cups https://a.co/d/2BA7GgR

I've heard pro and con on those things. It would be nice if they actually work. I want to try one myself.

That coughing doesn't get any better. I say go to edibles and those machines may just keep people breathing a while longer.

You ever try a straight just dry herb type vaporiser like the mightey or volcano or something not like those ecig ones with plant or vegetable glycerin in it ? Might help a bit switching to one of those if edibles alone dont work out for you mate

I've never heard of one. It's been around 40 years since I've smoked pot. I quit because it made my allergies worse.

Ohio legalized it and I'm growing some now. I want to try it for dulling the body pain.

Got to second that about dry herb vapes. I have a starry 3.0. It's excellent. Set the temp for what you want. By the time you inhale it's already pretty cool. You can set the temp to their default 356F and just get the things that evaporate up to that temp, like THC. Mine is set to 370F because I want the linaloo. There's no smoke until around 400+.

It's a lot easier on the lungs than smoking and comes on almost as fast.

I don't smoke cigarettes at all. Never have.

I just can't smoke pot without taking lot of allergies meds.
The only thing about edibles is that take longer to work, but they last a lot longer than smoking. Breathing is a lot easier with edibles and you might even do it a little longer. Ask anyone with COPD.

If I had one of those machines I'd sure use it. I'd buy one myself but I do well without one. Highly recommend that rather than smoking, I say as I put down my pipe.

Yeah bud thats why i suggested it most i know who quit smoking find edibles a bit slow to kick in hence the vape for more instant pain relief or whatever

I've suggested the same for my husband that he use the vape, or a joint, while he's waiting. I also make tincture which is alcohol based and has a quicker onset. But he prefers the oil based and it works but onset is typically 1-2 hours depending on the fat load he takes it with.

Oh definitely tincture is faster in onset than oil based however some folk swear by lecithin for making it kick in faster but i find something citrus based like edible lemon or orange oil seems to be the best of the bunch hides the taste great thats why if i make choclate i use terrys choclate orange for it ime it kicks in ten mins faster than anything else i tried to speed it up and my friend's and family agree as well

Lecithin is great. I use it in my gummies for a better emulsification. My husband loves sweets and he also loves tangerines so a chocolate orange should be welcomed. I'll get him one, thanks!
