The chief executive of OrganiGram Holdings Inc. (OGI.V) is calling on Ottawa to live up to its promise to snuff out the booming illegal cannabis market commanding the lion’s share of sales.

Greg Engel said he and his fellow licensed producers are facing “huge challenges” in luring buyers away from black market sellers offering prohibited perks like same-day courier delivery, free samples, and vibrant packaging, as well as a suite of cannabis-infused beverages and snacks ahead of pending legalization of those products.

I thought the problem was a supply issue...at least that's what they said a few weeks ago. Stores were only open 3 days/wk in some places due to lack of supply. Cannabis legislation came with the option to grow and to share - nothing black market about that. The dispensaries that still sell bm weed exist due to the lack of legal retail options which is a government created problem.
But riddle me this batman, if the black market were to disappear tomorrow and every cannabis user in the country had to buy from the LP's, where in the fuck do they think they'll get the product to supply demand? On the bright side, if these idiots are whining about the bm it means they are hurting financially and that can only be a positive.

I want their asses to bleed money and hurt like a bitch.

Best response to these big corps!! Love it! I just don't understand why they have to snitch like that. A lot of business men and women who came into this industry came from other sectors. Don't they know they have to compete. They already get the ball tipped in their favor with how strict the regulations are and how deep their pockets are. I believe anyone should be able to start a business in this industry regardless of how much money they have or their connections.

They big players in the alcohol game do it. Cannabis sector should be able to share and allow craft growers, just as we have craft alcohol. Organi gram is just pissed off they can’t have a monopoly after lobbying for cannabis legalization. Saddest part is is that organi gram was originally just a small time black market company for medical paients, now that they have some political swing and way too much money they want to shit on everyone else that use to be where they were.
