Anyone know how to how about finding garden pumice in canada?

Do you just buy large bags of hydroton lavarock and sledgehammer them for the basalt and small/med pumice aeration for organic no till coots mix?
I also was looking for pumice but gave up, best bet would be a landscape supply place, but I called a few in my area and they didn't have it. Fuck it, perlite for life it is.

lets talk about rooting mediums for best price. Ive been getting 1.5" Grodan 45 Count for $10 on amazon shipped free, works out to $0.22 a piece. Only thing cheaper I have found would be jiffy cubes, at half the price, but I don't like them as much just yet, or maybe simply don't have enough experience to have confidence with them yet. Clones started wilting after 2 days from jiffy cubes drying out, or stems simply not having proper contact in the peat, meanwhile rockwool cubes were fine right next to them.

There's a local company that makes the stuff but not sure if its worth to buy it bulk and break it down to retail sale as I've never really had anyone ask me for it. None of my wholesalers carry it anymore, I think its more of a bulb product for landscapers.

Well I inquired to see if RIU will now allow Canadian companies to advertise but seems to have fell on deaf ears as have't see a reply for several days. I was on here a few years back but they cancelled after a month or so as they said they can't advertise Canadian companies. I tried again some time later and same. This time no reply lol. Got to love online only businesses...

I don't think they have much use for the Canadian section here. We're pretty small potatoes.

Well its cheap compared to other advertising especially useless advertising on FB but for some reason before they never explained they couldn't do business with Canadian companies. Either way no reply for several days is kinda telling.

Well I've gotten business from people in the Canadian section and when I was a vendor on here I did quite a few giveaways too and just started to ramp up when they all of a sudden terminated my vendor account. I made way more money than I spent on advertising here so either way its profitable. I've never said no even to a $5 sale. Hell two days ago I spend over an hour with a guy trying to explain to him the pro and cons of tent growing and the realities of only growing 4 plants. He didn't buy anything but I gave him WAY more info and didn't try to force the sale like one of the other stores including trying to sell him a $800 5x5 tent vs a $200 tent lol.

I wish you all the best in this new reality. I really hope you get new business from new growers. I know you lost a lot of big guys. But servicing the new customers is going to help you business for sure imo. I know, much smaller sales. But having many eggs in your basket is also very valuable.
To me you are a soldier as you were there for folks before trudies greed run began.

Well unfortunately I don't think 4 plant home growers are sustainable for hydro stores in BC just by numbers there's isn't enough people. The amount of growers who quit is staggering which is funny cause its not legalization that killed the market it proliferation of med licenses and the glut of weed. I'm still surprised how much the market is flooded.

I understand your point...the volume just isn't the same. My suggestion is to be the best store in your area. Be the place to go. Shine above the other stores if you can. This will take much ingenuity.

Rapid rooters are the bees knees, I will never start a seed or clone with rockwool again
