i just used pc coolers some good thermal paste and some thermo tape. the paste has basically glued the chips to the heat sinks. and they cost me like 9 bucks each
Seems like a good solution, I'm going to look into that as well. Same heatsinks that are in your journal?

I was trying to avoid the extra wiring and such of adding active cooling though. I guess you gotta work with what you can get eh.

exactly and all i used to power my fans was a 12v charger. it can be anything above 250mah. should drive most pc fans. you can have any amperage output more than 250mah. the fans will only draw as much as they can use. you can control speed by using less voltage. if you go above 12volts itll burn out the fan motor

Depending on how much or what your looking at ordering, I've found RapidLED to be the cheapest. I've ordered from them years ago, 1 time i got hit with duties and the other time I didn't. With CAD dollar rising shopping in USD is do-able again. Signing up with them gives you 10% off your first order too.
