Can you switch from 18/6 back to 24/0?

just like it says i cant find it anywhere ive just been wondering if i could do that would it stress them? only in about 2 weeks in veg

There isn't really any point in vegging 24/0 the only thing I have found it can contribute to is more stretch transitioning into flowering.

You can just flip it if you want to but its pointless in my opinion.

You dont think it would stress them out though if i switched into 24 i dont plan on it just a thought (would be easier though) if you had already been on 18/6 for 2 weeks

Obviously it will stress them initially but its a minor stress during veg. Small amounts of stress are ok during veg. J

i agree with this.. i once read that 24 hours of light would cause your plants to grow 33% faster as opposed to only giving them 18 hours of light.. naturally i was all over it, but i find the plants grew slower and that a dark, rest, period really seemed to benefit the plants, so back i went.. now the difference between 18/6 and 20/4 would probably not be as severe imo.

nah, it won't really stress them out too much imo.. would be much worse if you tried messing around with the hours once they hit flowering..

I ran 24hrs for a while. After a couple years your mothers start to have more issues. PM, leaf deformities and such.

20/4 is what I hear many say is optimal, balancing health of the plant and fast growth... Who knows though.

Yep, at about the 16th hour mark mine look kinda tired and ready for bed time. They are back at it in the morning.

I suggest 18/6.

Thanks yeah and i know not to change them during flowering but im still a month or so from that they are hardly 5 inchs

thats whats up man wish i had enough coin for something like that once i can get one or two in i will end up getting alot better equipment for now though its closet time and a shit one at that

Tell ya what, I had to shop around to find some good prices on stuff. Got the 4x8x7 tent for 185 bucks (285 shipped to alaska). The 6" hydrofarm fan with 6x24 carbon filter and 6x25 ducting for 160, etc etc etc. the list goes on. I actually traded a car stereo amplifier for 2 general hydroponics water farm kits. Fixed someones car for the lighting. You get the idea. The thing that took the longest, was actually making this setup look "professional" in such a limited amount of room.

The amount of effort you put into it determines the outcome of it. Work hard, get paid.

of course i couldnt agree more with the last part. But as of now i just want to get a harvest under my belt before i start spending some serious cash which in the future i probably will

Yeah. Limited room makes stuff so much more difficult. Mine has pushed compact about as far as you can go. The planning and setting up was an epic headache..

Yep, probably went through about 9 designs like I did before I started getting in the groove of things :)

Time is a big factor when working with this problem also, it just takes sooo much time to move around in a tiny cramped space. Makes my 30 year old back feel 60 some days. I'll stand up and be like.. what the?!?! My youth is dwindling!!!

18/6 or 20/4 ... not continuous. ive read you want the dark period during veg as it helps plants build up carbohydrates and store them for flowering, greatly affecting potency and taste! i used to do 24/0 and have lots of wierd things happen after a while. and noticed i like 20/4 so much more. GL!

yeah im going to go with 20/4 and after this i will probably be investing in a tent much easier to control everything
