Can you plant a clone in a cup till it has a general root foundation between...

Today I bought a clone and I planted it in Kelloggs Outdoor Organic Potting soil. (chicken manure, perlite, peat moss, worm castings, and some other stuff).

Basically I planted the clone in a red party cup and originally the clones roots are all through a foam like material probably a rock wool cube. I filled the cups soil all the way to the top and made a hole as deep as the cube but twice as wide as the cube, and filled it in with soil and patted it down oooohhh very soooooo gently. Is it ok to leave the plant in this cup for maybe a week till the roots are actually penetrated through the soil. When I say this I mean I want a root structure so the soil holds the dirt in place.

How long will this take? Will the plants roots not grow as big as they would in a larger pot? Doesn't it not matter till about the pot size till the roots are actually through the soil and pushed up against the cup?

1-2 weeks for a clone to root. Im not exactly sure when your plant will become rootbound in a party cup, but i'd transplant it before a month.

Also, I wouldn't clone in anything with nutrients, it could burn the new root tips(get some advice from other growers who clone in soil).

fersure well its already planted and water has been added. idk though because ive heard only chemical soils can do something like that, but this says right on there its 100% organic materials.

also the light im using currently is a 68 watt (300 watt equivalent, biggest damn bulb ive seen in my life almost bigger than my foot) plugged in about 3-4 inches away from the plant, and the plant is then surrounded with white football material that is good at breathing, with a fan blowing onto a wall which lets are into the plants area which then causes a light breeze every few seconds. Hope this works!

Ive decided seeing how ive tried to put clones in almost every god damn soil with nutrients chemical or organic, even some without, most clones died... NOOWWW I am going to using seedling soil because I believe the heavier soil is burning the newly developing roots...!!!!

Also I have 2 clones seperate from my seeds, these clones are under 1 120watt (300 watt equivalent) and 48 watt (150 watt equivalent). Hope these work...! Going to use these for veg and the sun for flowering
