sparkage here

how much light is to much ???
I am useing 4 1/2 cfl 250 watt bulbs
the temp is around 78 to 81 dagrees
I am using a 4 x 4 tent
any help would be great

  1. tanks much sparkage out !!!!! :weed:
You certainly can have to much light, but you are not there, even if you have an actual 1000 watts of CFL. What is the actual wattage of the bulbs, not the "equivalent" watts.

What are 4 1/2 bulbs?

four that work and one that only lights up half the bulb
glass was cracked when I received it,, but got full refund, just faced the part that works down towards my baby.. ( o ) her name is mary
I buy everything of ebay no grow shops here where I live as far as I know
look at my first post up above, top left pic, the light close's to the camera to the left
you can see only half is lit-up that's how a got the 1/2 in 4 1/2 bulbs

dose these co2 bags really work ???

thought this way is how there ment to be with the light reflectors ???????
if I hung them vertical the light would go out to the side and up ???????? no ?????
more light would go up
I did have them vertical hanging in the corners and half the light went up and not torwards the plant
when I changed them this way, it's much brighter on the plant and darker above the light reflector ???????
:) :)

not trying to be a dick but why not just get a real light? Maybe if you hang them vertically in the middle but the way youve got it now you're losing a lot of your usable light
thought it would be better for the electric bill to go with cfl... watch for my pics I will share with you all on how great my plants turn out with cfl's
just need to do a better job on drying and curing that's were I need to improve by a million percent !!!!!!!!

You would get more usable light by using the light coming from all sides instead of the reflector..

here's what I mean vertically

photo from @jigfresh

and 1000+ watt of cfl is comparable electric use as 1000+ watt of any other light source.. Just getting A LOT less usable light than with HPS or LED (even the bulbs)

CFLs have a time and place (usually smaller areas) but you would be getting the same (if not better) results with a 600w hps system than you will with all those big cfls (but using half the pull at the plug).. Seems like youve got your setup going so good luck with that

actually not to be arguementative here, you can grow a plant with 5 to 6 small cfls......you would use them like ball lighting in a closet and or a tent by hanging them from the top of the tent. Place them above and in the 4 corners of the plant and it would grow just fine. I used smaller house hold ones my self and been doing it in a 2x3x7ft closet.....never had a problem....
