If I was you I'd wait to flower, at least until your nodes start to stagger, this shows maturity in your plants and will produce much more bud in the end product JMO

It doesn't matter what you use, MH, HPS, CFLs, as long as you have the right spectrum for flower and the right one for veg, you will get what you want

Well, yes and no. The "right spectrum" varies depending on the stage of plant growth. During veg they like more blues and whites, which MH and CFLs emit more of. During flowering they like more oranges and reds, which the HPS puts out. You are correct that ultimately your girls will still flower with MH or CFLs, but your buds won't reach their full potential without some of that red spectrum.

Very nice!MH is all I use and I get great results....bud size is not related to the use of hps or mh... its in the genetics of the plant

Uhm...Ok...Let me specify what I meant by the right spectrum...6500k is a blue spectrum light that you want to use for veg, and 2700k is a red spectrum light you want to use for flower....it does not matter what type of light you use as long as it's the right spectrum and there's enough of it, and you can keep the temps in range you'll be ok

That's the key right there!! Shoot for 50w or 5000 lumens per sq. ft., regardless of the light you use.

That will have to be next grow. Colonuggs thats a beautiful thing. Chipper Pig the hortilux I'm waiting for says you can use it for veg and flowers.

Im watching a grow right now and theres two lights being used right next to each other. One MH and one HPS. They are both flowering fine and will probably both produce the same weight in the end but the MH plants have stretched more than the HPS plants all planted at the same time in the same room.

If they are next to each other they are getting cross rays and would make sense that they are similar. Bet that's allot of heat.

Well I haven't been growing that long, but with the help of a few here at RIU, I've learned I have a green thumb, and since I'm all thumbsI have a nice garden

Thanks, so far it has been a great resource! This isn't my first rodeo when it comes to growing, so to speak, but it is my first time on RIU and it has refreshed some old stuff I knew, and taught me a whole bunch of new stuff!!!
