Can you cure anyway?

what i mean by this is im looking at how to cure but im confused because people are stating different things when it comes to burping such as some burp daily for X amount of days then burp every few days after that. others stated they burp for hours and some state they burp for minutes only.

wondering is this just a personal preference? right now i was planning to burp for 10-15minutes twice a day for idk like 3-4 days then do it every other day and keep a humidity pack in there. i do not have a small hygrometer to really check the specifics of the humidity and temps inside the jars.

i am in NO rush to smoke this stuff so any help with curing?

Real easy way a lot of us follow and learnt here -

Curing is not needed for dank ass smokabale bud - certainly large scale farmers arent jarring weed up for the cartel like this either.

Simply hang for two weeks in the right place in your house, a well ventillated room or wherever works best. After a week it will seem dry but after two it will be smooth enough to smoke.

Were job done here, sell up and smoke up :-)

Oh yer that all important "wont smoke without it cure". - So the dried smokable bud wants storing because lets face it no one can smoke a whole harveat in a night :-)

So its dry and hopefully lost all the moisture it needed to. Put it in a jar and check its still bone dry in 24 hours, do this a few more days - it should stay dry or at worse need a few more days air drying, take it out and do that if it happens.

So a few days to a week pass and it stays dry no change - you can now leave it for long times safe it wont mold.

But wait dosent the cure impart some magical pixie dank dust onto said bud....? No fuck off this is science - that bud still has a fractional amount of moisture locked in it or it would crumbke to dust. I must point out well below levels mold can use, but enough that some futher degredation of chlorophyll and conversion of whatever chems to whatever will slowly happen. Expect a smoother smoke and maybe a slightly stronger bud - it aint going to make or break the bud - you need well grown bud and well dried going in or you wont get much better out.

Jar wet weed and the equation points to mold - bud takes time to dry and is a skill not something you can learn by merely reading.

Hope that helps and others expand your situation - this is the easy and best way to begin :-)

edit; his way works too, I do something similar, I go about 10-14 days hang dry, then dry trim, then brown paper bag for a day or two depending on feel! then I jar it!

don't use 2 way bovedas to cure, only to store, it changes the taste!

if u Google if can get the exact numebrs, I could be slightly off, but seal the buds in jars with a hygrometer, if it stays at 62% or lower keep it closed, if it creeps up more than 2 or 3% per hour burp it! as I said those numbers may be off! but that's the correct way! I honestly go by feel, and only use the hygrometers to know if it gets way to high or way too low!

but as I said google, will give you a better answer! there is no set amount of times or bla bla bla! so many things come into play!

i want to cure via jar mainly cause of smell. i don't mind the smell but yea people i live with do. i'll try and buy a hygrometer small enough don't got money to invest in one right now though. plus the shops i go to don't sell any small ones. i have a probe one but the wire gets in the way so basically air is going to leak it either way.

10 bucks at the pet store! Google for exacts, but what I said above is the general rule of thumb!
what isle would it be in at the pet store? o_O im guessing the reptile isle? i'll go check soon gotta go buy fish food anyways but yea if anything i'll just buy a pack on amazon. humidity says 60-65% but the boveda packs are 62% so i'll just run 62 mid of the 2 anyways. they probably will dry super slow in the room they are at now though so i gotta check daily anyways. gonna run my hygrometer and check later on today humidity im guessing is like 70%+ in there

Your overcomplicating things with a hygrometer imo, make life easy :-)

even if 10 ppl are using the same exact drying methods not one would be the same, Find the balance.. gets dry to your feel, smell, touch... feel it day one its pretty solid.. feel it day two its smush super soft.. day 3 still soft 4-5 getting little dryer 6-7 wow getting pretty crispy on outside... here is where most ppl make mistakes.. depending on your humidity level in the room crispy dry can be okay until the stems get super rigid. if you have low humidity and you bud gets crispy in 2-3 days thats a problem! be patient wait for stems.. now i wait for little stems almost until the biggest bud snaps.. others just wait to rigid no snap hard bend, this is why you have so many diff answers. how long you jar depends on your dry if you jar fast stems bendy bud moist ... then you will have to dump out the bud on table and leave out to dry more .. then jar again./. i call that a mistake! another one is when you jar with rigid stems but no snap... i wouldnt even close the jar... just putting all the bud into the jar is creating moisture leaving the top off is helping to release.. same method as paper bag if you ask me.... but your still chasing the perfect dried bud.... its a balance.. here is what i find best i wait to little stems are snapping and big ones are almost there... then i jar leave my jar alone for 24 hrs since i dried out my bud to snap the 24 hrs works out... when i open my jar the bigger buds are snapping with all the little ones, and its sticky as fuck smokeable and fire..... after that i open them daily for 5 min if that... dont even need to tbh mine always balance out.. should be able to squeeze the bud and it comes back and also every stem should snap... if you jared some bendy weed you need to learn patients... enjoy some good smoke im about to harvest one side this weekend i cant wait!

yea just gonna do my own curing style lmao. for me likely will take 5 days maybe to dry i hung it whole, cut when soil was wet, going to dry trim. gonna chechk on day 3 at leas then every day after. for now i just check apperance incase they get mold but i doubt they will get mold anymore. probably gonna be cheap just buy boveda pack and stick it inside later on

Your overcomplicating humidity - Organic matter cannot naturally dry any faster than the cells it is made of allow.

You act like low humidity drys far too quick and fucks your bud..... Wakeup dude your talking to a grower that dries reguarly at below 30% humidity and is calling you out on that bullshite your peddling here.

Sorry but has to be said most growers do it the same and achieve the same - a lot of you guys end up with wet jarred bud then throw a whole load of rubbish at getting back to the level us growers who simply dry and jar are at.

Laughable - how did they dry weed for the last 2000 years then hmmmm.....

See what happens on this site is some good growers lay down the basic and easiest tried and tested dry and cure methods then every one else adds humidity, humidifiers, shorter dries, boveda, hygrometers, paper bags etc etc etc

Until you have to come here and write a thread explaining that you are 'Confused on all the dry and cure info'.

The circle completes :-)

yea confused cause people don't properly explain it when i google things or watch videos on youtube. they just say do this do that cause i said so! made it a lot easier to understand. prolly gonna half ass the cure without a hygrometer though just cause im broke got bills coming up. the drying process was easy to understand just the curing part but seems like you just trying to remove moisture at a slow rate but not super slow to the point it gets mold

Moisture is removed in the dry not the cure - these peeps are trying to reinvent the wheel. Jarring is just to keep it at the original level you dried it to - if it still looses moisture it wasnt dry and these fools then proceed to burp and that rubbish - they never learnt how to dry thats all.

keep it easy first you can do all that rubbish once you learnt to get dry bud that gets you high :-)

1.To recap - dry for two weeks.

2.Once it stays that dry in a jar you can jar and store.

3.If in the jar it gets moist - ya you didnt dry properly - repeat drying steps.

far too easy but weed growers like to make everything 100 steps far too complex like there selling you stuff you dont think you need but there sure you do :-)

You dont actually need to cure or jar bud so no idea what your on about but i would like to point to other new growers the reason why the info is so hard to decipher.... ^^This guy and others alike^^

Like i need to cure or buy a jar for top grade smoke - again laughable :-)
