Can you clone without gel?

Im going away for 2 weeks and this shits growing high and fast. Aerogardens not gonna hold out for the 2 weeks. Can i top the plant and use it as a clone without using gel or anything? i would put it straight into the aerogarden

gel is'nt a nessesity but it helps you should be ok. you could scrape the outer skin off the stem a little to help it get going. some clones root quickly with no problems and others take longer be patient if the plant stays green leave it alone and you will get roots

when you prune the plant do you just cut off the fan leaves?

i usually leave them on until they fall off by themselves. and they will near the end of flowering the leaves should be left on because they are how the plant uses light. the leaves absorb the light and convert it to food the plant uses to grow. even though it seems better because your "letting more light get in" in the long run i've noticed bigger buds by leaving leaves on
