I mean like the ufos or mars king ect.. I'm more interested in the shell of it all you know? And I imagine the company's would have some sort of scrap sale set up. I'd like to take advantage of the pre planned plug placement, frame, and what ever else is in there and just replace the driver and leds and make my diy look a lil bit more legit lol

Any one know of anything like this?
 
Ooo nifty... rapid has something similar but like you said I imagine broken Chinese lights would be cheaper.
 
Yeah you'd have to do some searching locally I guess but I thought I'd point out the photon-180 case just so you know it's there if you can't find anything else...or just want something brand new that comes with a dimmer all the goodies.
 
You dont need one ... You can REPURPOSE a Sun System reflective hood ( hammered relective kind ) - it measures around 31 x 30 and 8" tall . Top side is flat and perfect for DIY fans to cool panels . SHITCAN the Bulb connector .

This " HOOD " will hold 4 panels ... You could even mount meanwell on flat top too !

I forgot i couldn't post pics but look up sun systems Argotech And see the hood.
I personally have seen these at the fleamarket for like $20.

Or just add eyelets at panel corners using ratchet hangers ... No case needed.
 
I like the diy style ... get a little more bang for your buck. The people I work with feel the opposite. They would rather a fancy looking China made "1000w" quantum board over my 350w cree I did with parts from rapid led just because the case looks minty lol sooo I wanna shove Crees veros citizens ect... in China cases or that agrosun idea
 
Well let's see if he pops by lol... anyone else got any other suggestions? I've seen growmau5 vids where he had some clean heat sink sleeve looking things that I believe he said he made but idk how he made them
