Can store bought potting soil cause nute burn?

Sure can if its too hot for the plant. What stage is your girl at and what soil exactly are you using (brand, NPK ratio's etc). I only do a soil grow once a year and the rest I'm in hydro so you are going to get more help from the soil guru's here.

tossed the bags so I really don't know wasn't sure, that or to close to my 150 watt hps, about 7 inches, is that to close?

Can you upload pictures mate so we can see? Without pics you wont get much help I'm afraid as people don't like giving blind advise.

peace.

"tossed the bags so I really don't know wasn't sure"

Always mix in up to 50% perlite to reduce chances of burn and numerous other benefits.

Yeah I mix a fine soil with a good quality heavy soil, vermiculite, perlite and if needed, lime. Seems to do perfect and not had any burn on soil grows I do. I am a hydro grower so only do 1 soil grow a year so by no means an expert on soil.
