Can someone set this straight!

Im ready to do the inside of my grow box and was wondering what people thought works better... glossy white paint, tin foil or a car windscreen uv protector?

please inform me before it's too late!

cheers.

I'd use the uv screen. Paint can become toxic with the heat from the lights, and tin foil will create mad hot spots. Mylar is not too expensive either.

where can I find mylar.. I live in Aus, would u recommend a general hardware store?
I have been told flat white paint can reflect up to 85% but mylar is obviously better (i just couldnt be fucked to spend anymore money) ans have cans of flat white laying around my room...

Depends on your situation. You have paint on hand, so it wouldn't cost ANYTHING. Mylar you find at a hydroponics shop or online. Not sure about AUS but U.S. hardware stores don't carry it. Also how many plants you doin? If it's alot you'll probably want mylar.

well im using cfl's and the box isnt big... (im talkin 2 foot tall 1 foot wide) so maybe no more than 3?
would you say that a windscreen protector would be a better reflectant than matte paint?

Check a camping type store for 'emergency blankets'. Should only be like $2-$3 a piece, in a little package.

maybe not if you start to flower them right away. Plants grow alot when they flower...maybe you can do it, I'm not sure.

Yeah true, just out of curiousity what is the smallest amout of lumens you need to grow 1 plant in a stealthbox (same dimensions as mine)

Flat white paint, not gloss white reflects 80-85% of light.
Mylar reflects like 90-95%

...idk if those emergency blankets are a mylar reflective material, but...those sun blockers for the front windshield of a car I believe are.

yeah man thats what i been sayin

do u know if the car things are just as good because i have one of those as well as paint...

please help me determine as i want to start fabricating when I wake up! ahha
