can someone give me some advice about ph levels

And the best pH Up is plain tap water.

IMO not strictly true.

While water will increase pH it will also reduce strength of the nutes. What if your nutes are where you want them to be strength wise, but pH is low and you have to cut almost 50% with water to bring your pH back up? Your nutes are now 50% weaker than you want them. So you add more nutes making your pH swing down again then you add yet more water and the cycle just repeats.

IMO the best pH up you can buy is liquid silicon. It helps strengthen cell walls, helps with drought and heat resistance, pest resistance and it increases pH.

Yes it can have a negative effect when using pH up or down in their raw forms.

It's always best when using pH up or down to mix 5ml of either into 500ml of water and slowly add this mixture to your nute mix until desired level is reached.

Adding them neat can cause certain elements to be rendered unusable if pH crashes too far in either direction.

Liquid silicon as pH up doesn't have this effect. However depending upon the amount of water you are using it can cause your pH to go up quite dramatically if you over do it.
