Can Somebody Please Tell Me If Trimming Some Fan Leaves Would be a Good Idea Here?

Im using a scrog that's visable by the wooden frame at the front. I'm just wondering is trying to tie them sideways gonna stress them out too much as tricomes are bursting all over me every time i try and move the leaves now. I dont want to affect my overall yield. Any advice appreciated! p.s as long as it's good

Don't trim them. In time as she flowers the fan leafs will be the first to die off leaving you plenty of light to get deep down. Until then the fan leafs are your very best friends, giving your plants all the sun they can handle and also sucking in co2

Thanks dude. I hope they fall off soon. 20-25% of my buds are undercover of the scrog net and i'm trying desperately to give them all some direct light. Could somebody give me an estimation on my yeild? They are 21st day of flowering now and are MK-Ultra Stinky strain. My house smells unreal before the fans pop on each day ^^

Trimming the larger fan leaves blocking bud sites won't hurt the plant or your yield if you take it slow, say a few over the course of a couple days.
After 2 or 3 days, it will look like you never even trimmed them in the first place.

Did I read that right, you have 1/4 of your buds UNDER the net ?
Post a pic of under the netting.

At 3 weeks bloom, your stretch is pretty much done and ANY and ALL plant material not at and above the netting at this point needs to be trimmed off COMPLETELY !
If you don't, you're getting poor air circulation plus asking for uninvited pests to come feast on what will end up dead/rotten plant material due to lack of light.
It will also take away from your final yield bcuz you're plant is wasting precious energy and food on plant material that won't really be of any good to you.

I have done everything you suggested. Found a lot of dead foliage caught up in the scrog line. I hope i didn't go too crazy on the trimming. I will upload an update on how i got on in about a week. Till then Peace out and thanks. +Rep 4u2

if im not mistaken on a scrog isnt the whole underside of the screen supposed to be gone at this point to get rid of all the sites that get no light and put all the energy in making colas at the canopy?? i have never done scrog but i do sog and i used to never trim and while i was getting "ok" yields (50% of which was popcorn/shake when dried) once i started lollypopping the entire lower 1/3-1/2 of my plants leaves and branches my yields blew WAY past what they where from pulling 1/2 oz per square foot to 2 oz's per square foot. of course i may be wrong (as i have never scrogged before) but every good scrog i have seen has had everything under the screen eliminated.

The scrog net was erected 1 week into flowering. A little late i know. They recovered well and all the green u see beneath the screen was originally over it but i pushed the leaves down through it to give more light to the top colas.

Yield is something you learn by growing the same strain over and over to learn that particular phenotype.
Just too hard to say since we are not there to see and fill the nugs.

Take the rest of the leaves and branches/stems that are not above the net over the next week.
How far into bloom are you at this point ?

Im at 24th day of flowering atm. Im hoping for 6 ounces. Or is this just a madmans dream in my situation?

I personally don't ever trim leaves. Leaves are your solar panels. Bud sites getting light doesn't make bigger buds, your leaves getting lots of light makes bigger buds.

i wouldnt trim any fan leaves unless they're starting to die. otherwise wait until your flowers are more mature. then you can trim some fan leaves to get more light to the colas.

what kind of lighting are you using? still hard to tell though with all the variables. strain is a huge factor also. your plants look very healthy so im sure your feeding and such is sufficient. also if down the road you add co2(tanks with a regulator or generator along with a control unit are the only way to go) supplementation, you should get about 33% more yield.

I beg to differ DGA.
The leaves more close the buds get more light and does increase their size.
Look at a SCROG grow.
If those lower secondary+ stems didn't get that light they'd remain small like on a standard tree grow, with the rest ending up popcorn.
Instead they all look like the primary cola(s).
I'll take a pic of all the fan leaves I trimmed over the past week that are in a paper bag, and then my canopy and you won't believe what's left and what I took.
