Can it survive?

So long story short, this is a the plant I have after germinating and planting it in soil.

It's been dead like this for some time so my question is, if I replant it, is there any slight chance that it will repair and survive or should I toss it straight away?

p.s I think the soil I was using was crap so that's why I would replant it if it has any chance.

Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I'm tossing it.

Now here's my other plant which progressed nicely but seems to have started dying as well, the cotyledons were opened but day or two after they got closed.. duhhh I plan to give it a week in another soil to see whether it's going to get better, at least this one seems to have small chance of survival.

In the first picture it was in a good condition even the true leaves are starting but in the second it looks bad.

What kind of soil you using? It looks like it's just mud from outside. You will need to get some proper soil, making sure it doesn't have time release ferts, and go from there. A popular choice is Fox Farm Ocean Forest, but just about any type of potting soil should work.

If its not outside its been grown in before, the old roots are mixed in. Its prob just a little to hot for seedlings. Thats alot of water coverage for a seedling for my taste. I cut the bottom of a 16.9oz water bottle about 2-3" tall. Sprout in that and water with a spray bottle.

The first soil (before transplanting) was store bought soil which seemed to be a bit harsh for seedlings so I changed it with an organic one that I picked up from the woods.

Umm I don't really understand what are you trying to say.

Hot meaning nutes in it already. I see its not reused it organic. I was stating that you have alot of water coverage for such a tiny plant with a tiny root. Its needs air too. Or are you misunderstanding what i do for seedlings?

your soil looks way too heavy, add at least 20-30% perlite to it, and maybe a little fine sand. weed like a lot of water, but it HAS to have good drainage, roots have to breath, or they die. it looks like w/e you had them in was way too hot, now the dirt from the woods is way to heavy and slow draining.
you might want to get a small bag of coco coir, mix that about 60-40 with perlite, and sprout in that, then transplant to soil when they've got a couple of sets of leaves on them

Ahh, so the problem was with bad drainage.. yeah I thought that might have been the issue and that's why I switched the soil in the first place. It was way too damp for long time although it had drainage holes. So, the soil in the pic is not good as well, right?

p.s I'd preferably want to mess less with mixing manually, so will buying organic soil be a better choice?

most soil needs something added for drainage, either coarse sand or perlite. w/e you put them in, i'd add at least 25% perlite to it, or you're just going to keep having the same problems
