Can I use rockwool cubes in soil using citric/acetic acid?

Hi guys,

Can I use rockwool cubes in soil? I usually use paper towels then into soil, but I want to try popping my seeds In rockwool, then doing the same. I'd like to produce vigorous root systems.

I'm assuming once I've pre-soaked the cubes a few times, I can add citric/acetic acid to drop the pH 2 points.

Is this correct, and will I need to watch the pH before it goes into soil? I never seem to have a pH problem usually, as soil is a good buffer.

Any thoughts or calibrations much appreciated.

Happy growing!

So you mean start your seed in rockwool and then pot into soil? Thats doable for sure. Once the plant grows roots into the soil the rockwool will be long forgotten. No need to really worry about the rockwool pH because the seedling won't really start to feed until it's transplanted and stops eating from it's seed reserves.
