I am going to top a clone about 2 or 3 weeks in and was wondering if I can use the top I cut off as a clone. Anyone who knows if this works please tell me

Yeah man... they are the best ones. Also if you keep moms for a while you basically have to do it or they get sooooo tall!

the tops take longer to root then the lowers but they make great clones.. i have a friend that is on like his 10th harvest all from taking clones of clones..
Earlier poster is correct. Rooting hormones are strongest in those growing points nearest the roots. I just topped a sativa and trimmed it just like a clone. I put it in a tall cup of water and topped off the water every other day for 18 days. When I put her into dirt I made the soil real wet as the plant was used to water 24/7.

My tops seem to root on par with every other cutting, faster than most actually. The roots that broke through the rockwool were much more numerous initially, too.

24 for new clones is ideal after roots form 18 is fine
