can i use a infra-red heat bulb?

I have an infra-red heat bulb sittin in my closet and im wondering if it would work at all if i tried to use it on growing my plant...anyone know?

It'll heat your plant using a lot of energy. It won't give it PUR, even though it does give off some PAR (PUR = photosynthetically usable radiation, PAR = photosynthetically active radiation).

If it gives off heat I imagine its going to torch your plants.
