I am over a month into growing and my plants are not very big. I just realized that i am usinf 42 watt soft whites for my plants. Is that the problem? If it is, can i still save my plants?

My plants never see anything but 2700K lighting. It keeps them small but this is what I need as I only use a pc case.
There should be no problem if you change over to 6400K now.

Absolutely. I also use nothing but 2700k for the whole life cycle.

Look at my journal. If that isn't evidence enough I don't know what to tell you.

It all depends on how much space you have, if your trying to keep em small jsut stick with a 12/12 2700k throughout the grow, if your trying to get some good sized do a 6500k 24/0 for veg and flip to 2700k 12/12 for flower

yeah you can BUT..throw a daylight/cool cfl in there...I've vegged for yrs with 2 x T5 blues...and 2x red T8's(plant/aquarium)...you'd do better with
SOME blue...
like most HPS now have some blue spectrum.
