How big the plants? I try not to do too many stressful things to the plant at once. I would wait until after transplant. The root stretching into the new pot will give you some stretching, once you see it taking back off you could probably top.
Is there a reason you are going from a pint to a 5 gal? Not saying its wrong, just wondering.

Ya, bigger pots definitely make bigger plants, at least with soil. I don't do much transplanting either if I can help it. I've even cloned straight into 15 gal pots.

You can top a decent size off and clone it if you want another plant.

Well there's your answer. Transplant, then wait a few days, and by then your clone gel will be there.
