Can I still clone this?

I have a strain going from seed. I've already taken clones of the most vigorous looking one, and am just pushing the others through. They all looked the same for the most part, one was just quicker to germ. I thought they must be a stable strain, or not many phenos.

They are 23 days into flower now. It is a Haze, so it's going to run around 10+ weeks in flower.

Tonight I'm in the flower tent checking stuff out and I get slapped in the face with a grape jelly smell. I immediately start sniffing around like a dog and my nose lands on this bud that smells like you put one of those grape jelly containers from Denny's up to your nose. I smell around to the others on the plant and they all smell like it and way strong. I always could smell a sweet odor coming from that tent, but just thought it was the overall smell.

I cannot lose this pheno. Is it too late to clone? Day 23 flower. I'll pull the whole plant out of flower and back to veg if I have to. In all the plants I've grown my whole life I have never smelled anything like this on a plant. So that's how seriously I want to keep it. At least clone it to keep it.


Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you mean reveg? i agree. i'd let it finish flowering, leave as many leaves on it as you can when you harvest it, and reveg.
then you got plenty of cloning opportunities, and weed

Sure you can clone it. I'd go for a supple thin branch(es) near the bottom that isn't going to get much light anyway. Bonus you can still try a reveg if it doesn't take to feet.

For a close to guarantee it comes back for you put it back to veg now.

you might get it to clone that far in, every time i've tried they seem to starve before they ever set roots. the farthest along i've ever had success at monster cropping is about two weeks in, and those still almost starved to death before they finally rooted. they did make some huge ass bushy clones though

I had never thought of that. Or done it before. So it will snap back after a harvest into veg. I don't see why it wouldn't I guess. Wow. I feel like a complete noob now. I'm going to snip a clone and try to get it to take also.

Clone won't herm, I've taken cuttings as far as 6 weeks into flower. took em 3 weeks in the aerocloner to root and reveg,but it was worth it. I tried it in case the reveg didn't work.
I say do both. It increases your chances at keeping that smuckers grape jelly pheno.
Just make sure you leave enough leaves and nugs on the part you don't harvest.
The more vegetation you leave(different spots on the plant)IMO the better your chances are at a sucessful reveg.

hey mate i've cloned well into week 4 before or monster cropped it takes a bit longer to root but still an option and use 24 hour light to reveg quicker

i spray mine with a weak solution of cal mag nit from growth technology it keeps them going till rooted

Quick question.
I usually flush 2 weeks out on a strain that goes 11 weeks. Should I still do this if I plan on bringing it back after harvest? When to flush or does it matter.

actually, do w/e you usually do, but start giving it light veg nutes when you cut what you're going to off of it. it won't need much, i'd say 1/4 strength, and just use enough to keep it from drying out, till it starts to show any new growth

I did a clone at 33 days into flower, you can see it in my Monster Crop journal in my signature! Called Monster Crop.
It was just that a Monster. Only did 18 plus zips of smokable buds, but using most of it when I make my next FECO.

this is interesting i have never taken a clone that late. I have re-veged many a plant with good results.

The clone took. It almost didn't make it. At first I tried to aero clone it, and the stem kept rotting on me, so I'd cut it back and try again. I decided to do a hail mary and cut it back one more time and used cloning powder and a peat plug. I had roots in 3 days. When I put it in this bag it had some good roots coming out of the jiffy pellet. This is about 3 1/2 weeks after cutting.

When it came time to harvest I completely forgot I was going to reveg this plant until it was just about too late. I remembered on the last cola. I decided to go ahead with it, maybe I can pull a few clones later.


So it was a success, I got to keep the pheno. Thanks guys.

The clone ended up not making it, but the plant is taking back off, so that's good.
