just wondering if its ok to start flowering. I cant have a 6' tall lady out here lol. she is 16" tall right now so i figure she would be about 3 1/2 - 4 ft when done flowering.

Sure, flower away. You can do it at any time. I'm assuming you're just gonna put some kind of covering over the plant since it's outside?

It looks like your outside. So I'm sure you realize you would have to force it to flower. It won't do it when you want, it's up to mother nature. If you have a good way to force it then you can do what ever you want. It should be old enough, maybe. How old is it?

edit.. Dam I type slow... ^^What He said^^

Sure you can. You could also LST it. Grown it sideways if you have the space.
What strain is it? Already seems a bit lanky, so it may surprise you when it comes to height. But your est. sounds about right.

As long as the plant is mature (has alternating nodes) you should be good. How are you going to force 12/12 outside?

i was planning on using a black plastic bag and start the 12\12 at 8pm and end it at 8 am. also planning on using a few stakes to keep the bag off of the plant. the seed came from a strawberry diesel bag. had the plant inside for a while but i was very limited on lighting so i moved her ( i hope) outside. what would be a good nute for the flowering stage

The general rule of thumb is to assume your plant will double or triple in size during flowering, so I'd definitely say you should start flowering now, but you can choose whenever is right for you.

based on a 16" plant your plant will probably end up somewhere between 48-58" depending on your environment, strain, ect. Still well below 6ft. but I'd definitely say flower now and next time I may even suggest starting flowering closer to 12", just to be safe :P

what is the benefit to growing sideways?
in lst or low stress training you grow sideways to either A.) relieve yourself of vertical space problems, or B.) just give your plant more chances to make some dope colas, basically growing sideways lets your plants have more light penetrate the lower nodes and thusly gives you more bang for your buck.

ok and what about nutes. i have some that are 4-10-6 will that work?

During the budding stage you should use 15-30-30, this promote healthy budding and increases potency. It is best to keep using your vegetative nutes until you see signs of sex then switch to the above.

As for a black bag, i would suggest a box. Then you can just put it right over it as long as there are no holes in it.

Hope this helps.

update: i have been forcing flowering for 4 days now and i have added some nutes and now at 4-28-9. i also once a week feed with fish emulsion of 5-1-1. you all think that will work.....remember im a noob lol

so i have decided to let mother nature have controll of this one! she (i hope) is about 2' tall and has alot of new growth. still isnt showing sex yet, should soon i hope.
