Hi guys, Quick question
Instead of starting with a smaller pot then transplanting.
Can i just start with a bigger pot? Does it matter?
Thanks

Ya can. The theory of moving up in pot size is to grow a more dense root ball. Bigger pot ya wanna watch over watering ya may have to water 1 time a week or even every 2 weeks.

Graduated transplanting has its place, but should be limited.

Every time you transplant the plant suffers shock.

not to mention it's a PIA.

I personally think that you should let your lighting situation and the number of plants you can fit under it dictate how often you transplant. It usually works itself out if you go that route.

I start in rockwool cubes with clones. I then drop them in 4" pots, which does not shock them at all, which is good because that is when they transition to MH from fluoro.

I then choose my clones for flower as they're ready, and transplant into their final homes, 6.5L square pots. That's all.
