Ok so i've got some sunshine mix and i just killed a few males that turned up. They were in 5 gal containers and about 12" tall. I cut them out and pulled out the bulk of the root system.

Anyway i was wondering if i can still use this soil for my transplanted clones? It's hot with botanicare veg, liquid karma, n molasses

i'm not going to use this straight from cutting, i'll use something else with lower ph and only superthrive as nutes

so basically, can i use this soil when i'm ready to transplant?

thanks!

Hi SB99

From what I've read you should never re-use soil because of the possible presence of pathogens, molds, misc other critters, salt build up, etc. Any of these could be an instant problem for your transplants.

Any infectious bacteria will be killed if you can heat your soil in the oven to 300 degrees for 15 minutes. Setting the soil aside for a month afterwards slowly supplementing organic nutrients and mixing daily is how I get 80% of my compost. Beauty of soil and organics is if you use true organics, there will be soil builders like micro organisms that nourish plant growth and soil stability. Chemical soils tend to reduce the soil's ability to retain water, resulting in higher levels of nutrients to be administered. Happy growing all
