can i make a clone in to a mother plant

Ok so I got a clone from a buddy tonight and I Want to know if and how I can make it a mother plant. Any tips would be appreciated.

Call it a mother and take clones from it as it gets bigger . Take a few rounds from it and eventually flower her . Use one of the new clones as a new mother .

Put it in veg and give it 18hrs of light every day. Trim it when it gets too big.

thanks for the reply. Just got it set up right now it is at 24 hours light right now should i switch to 18-6?. I have grown from seed a few times with success but now would like to get in to cloning. I attached a photo. how long do I have wait to cut clones?

You can run 24 hrs but I've never seen a difference between 18 and 24 so I don't bother wasting the extra electricity.

I'd let it develop at least secondary nodes before taking clones.

I personally would wait at least two months before cloning her. Give her some time to get acclimated to her new home. Feed and low stress train her and in a few months you should have a nice strong mom.
