Can I get some help to build a LED light?

Hello guys,

Let me start this off humbly. I know that I dont know enough to build a safe, efficient and "cool" light on my own. That is my reason for asking you guys. I have watched pretty much all the DIY led threads, and I love them. However, I usually end up skim reading most of them for cool bud shots or DIY fixtures.
Anyways, I have to import the COBs, have them be VEROs or CREEs, so I just want to make sure, that I am doing things correctly. I would like to build a light that can cover 2x3sq feet powerfully. I mean, I want some deep, solid penetration. Would it be a good idea to use six cobs, one per sq ft and run it at 40w? Then Id total some 240w, perhaps with a dimmer making it possible to up it to 50w per COB, and also sq foot. Is it too much, or not possible to do? I would rather be safe than sorry, since the drivers, potentiometers and COBs have to be imported, which is always a hassle.

If you dont feel like helping out, because I did not take sufficient time to understand this by myself, then I completely understand. Im in no hurry, I just wanted some help from those in the know, who feel like helping out :)
Have a nice evening!

40w/ft would penetrate really well, especially with 6 of them in there.

50w/ft would probably be fine, just hang em high. Absent an external dimmer you could opt for a driver with internal dimmer, adjust if needed.
