So I'm running two 55w 3800 lumen florecents and a 150w Hps in a custom turkey pan reflector (lol) that I made and I'm curious how far should I have it from the plants with the Hps in the middle sense it's not as long as the other two I honestly think it should be closer but I'm the new guy that always asks first so he doesn't make mistakes later or wake up to a crop of yellow plants its soul crushing I've seen it happen to a few people I'd rather not experience it let me know please

I can get CFL close - for me 4 - 6" .
How old are your plants ?
Are you vegging or flowering ?
Bulbs seem very yellow , what spectrum are they ?

They are still young ladies and I know I need to ramp up my pot size and my lighting eventually they are around 28day-1m mark and they look a lot more yellow at that angle but it's the only angle I could take to show distance

start at 8" wait to see if it causes a stretch then move em closer. all though u can beg with almost any cfl you will see best results using 6500k bulbs for vegging and 2600k for flowering good luck

You might need a little more light but that will work for now

hahaah i had to laugh at the turkey pan, u have to admit it is funny. I have a question for you though, i was looking to do something similar to you but i couldnt figure out how to hand the HPS. What are you plugging the HPS into? Where did you find it?

I got a ballast/socket from a 75$ Hps barn/outdoor light then I removed the guts and just used the ballast mounted a board to the inside of two turkey pans cut in half then dremeled a hole for the Hps ballast/socket n guts from the old light to hang threw rather then hang down its kinda heavy then I mounted two normal e27s on the inside and did the minor wiring in my case the lamp had a day light sensor so I just removed it from the circuit and discarded it but you may find these types of Hps on Craigslist for dirt cheap then just gut them and remount/wire them to your liking I'm the handy friend I've made some pretty dope homade hoods and ballast threw out the years
