How is the plant going to concentrate all of its energy on buds when it can't photosynthesize? Leaves are like the engines of plants, converting nutrients into usable energy via photosynthesis. The flowers themselves are not photosynthetic, ergo cutting off all your leaves would diminish your final yield.

don't knock a guys opinion because of his number of posts. this guy could have 10x the experience you do and just be new to the site. you asked for opinions remember? just because you accept someones opinion doesn't mean you have to go with their idea. i'm sorry but that comment was disrepectful. I don't however agree with cuting off leaves during flower. the plant feeds off the fan leaves during the end of flower. leave there and if they're shading the buds tie em down or tuck em under. just don't be disrespectful when you're looking for advice.

You can cut some fan leaves, I usually leave the ones nearest the colas, and lower nugs. Pruning is an art... you either have to be around a very experienced individual or experiment.

If you wanna get light to lower branches, wait until the stretch has stopped then pull the fan leaves (anything that doesn't have trichomes). Just make sure to keep em green and you will be good to go.
This is a very commen misconception. Light disipates very fast. at 3 feet you have 1/6 the lumens. (100,000 lumens @ 3 feet is 16,666 lumens) NEVER cut upper fan leafs to give lower leafs light. If anything remove lower leafs to increase airflow and cool the plant.

What if the high fan leaves show signs of stress? Cut them or let them struggle? Oh, and there are no lower fan leafs, they fell off during the replanting (hence, the stress).

Solve the stress problem. If the lowers fell off then all you have is the uppers. The plant will die without the fan leafs to convert Co2 and light into energy. It would be like taking the gas tank out of your car. Sure the engine is in working condition but it wont run.

couldnt you drop some cheap 40 watt 2300k cfl to the lower half of the plant and leave the fan leafs... I mean thats what i did with my 250 hps and it worked good.. not quite as dense as the main cola but not fluffy and popcorn like it would have been if i didnt suppliment light. Just MO.. I love growing.... and ehh sometimes low posts means hes here reading and not adding two cents but sometimes its a noober... cant really go by that.. not discrespectfull you just didnt think about it... keep that chin up
