Can dried cured herm weed cause pollination?

I have some dried weed that was either from a herm itself or pollinated by one. I was just smoking some because its still really good. I realized that I might be putting my females that are a week into flower at risk. After you dry out the herm weed (2 weeks old)can the pollen still get to your females? Can DRIED weed that was only pollinated by a herm ruin a crop? I feel like there is pollen all over my hands now. I dont see any bananas just premature seeds. Worried:-(

I would say that weed that was pollinated couldn't pollinate your plants, but dried males/hermies could as pollen stays viable when dried, and cannabis relies on the pollen wafting through the air to pollinate (rather than direct contact via bees or hummingbirds). So if you have dried male flowers that have viable pollen on them, conceivably you could pollinate your new crop. I've heard people tell stories of the tops of their grow lights collecting dust that has pollen in it from males/herms they missed, and brushing that dust off accidentally pollinated the next year's crop. Dunno if it's true but it's enough to make me paranoid.

Sure it can. The chances are really low though, unless your messing with your smoke right in the grow room.
some pollen could land on you, you go into the grow room some of it gets into the air.
That's why you want to follow the grow room rules.
Never go into your grow room dirty
Never let anyone else in your grow room (for the same reasons you make sure your clean)
Never take plants or clones from people (good way to get spider mites or other bugs)
Never let pets in your grow room (They carry bugs)
Never smoke in the grow room, never handle your plants after smoking cigarettes. (TMV virus, the smokes not good for the plants)

IMO- I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Good Luck on Your Grow.

The weed would have to be relatively fresh.
Pollen is only potent for a week or two.

Good advice from Topfuel.
Keep your room clean!

Thanks for all the replies, I feel better now. I've searched the weed thoroughly for bananas and haven't found any. Pretty sure the weed is more than two weeks cut down. Dried and crispy because my friend wasn't worried about curing it(still REALLY frosty though, not to mention free). Also fairly sure that it was not an actual herm itself. Can't be sure because I didn't grow it though. Also, thanks for making me aware because I smoke in my grow room sometimes. Usually its just a bowl while working on plants. I will stop for sure. Thanks for all of the good advice.:leaf:

Of course it can. In FDD2blk seed tutorial he dries the pollen before putting it over female colas.

The herm bud had very few nanners (I only found one actually, but I'm sure there were some hiding) and a seed here and there in a qp. Even if some stray pollen got into my grow... they are very early into flowering and I'm wondering how much damage could be caused by very little contamination. Sensi is ideal, but i wouldn't throw a crop away over a few (VERY FEW.lol) seeds. Thanks for any replies.
