Can DE bulbs be directly air cooled?

and another 1000 watt bulb is supposed to be coming out. I only use the 315's, I think part of their appeal is the ability to use more point sources than the bigger lights.

as long as they are the same dimensions i see no issues. there actually was an issue a year or so ago where 1000k hps DEs were slightly different lengths

Suitable for use in any DE hood with any 315W CMH ballast.

sounds like thats your answer. the vertical 315 reflectors are equally as good and also air coolable

Yeh, I was looking at those but they are 130 dollars extra and maybe 20 bucks shipping, plus some amazon reviews say the timer is crap

depends what you need. i think the timer is handy and as reliable as any
