Can clones be taken from a plant which is flowering?

Reason im asking is because i have 2 plants about 4.5 feet tall which are 3 weeks into flower and they are way too tall to fit in my grow room. Already raised the light as far as possible. so im thinking about making some clones and starting from scratch.

Ive learned my lesson and wont make that same mistake

it would root.. then you would need to keep it in light for 18 +. In roughly 3 weeks they will be back on track.

why not just bend and train some branches to make them fit? No reason to lose all that hard work. Do what you have to do to make them fit, i don't even think cutting some branches off would stunt their bud growth very much, a lot of guys do staggered harvests. And the rest of their plants seem to finish just fine. You could even use the branches you cut off to make them fit, as clones. So you could essentially kill two birds with one stone. I guess it would really just depend on how much you would have to cut them. There is a point when they would be stressed to the point they would herm. But if you just bend em and tie them down, you will also open up the canopy to get more light to the lower sections of your plant. Also with them being 3 weeks into flowering, thats pretty much when they are done with the stretch, and will focus on bud formation everything. Just have to be careful, she's a hardy plant though, not too much will hurt her. lol I guess thats just my 2 cents on the matter though. Good luck, and happy growing
