Can anyone help 1 plant out of 8 is not looking too good

So my mate watered them with just water and didn't oh them they all went pale but colour is coming back now but there's just this one in the pic I am worried about any ideas people anny help would be much appreciated thanks

almost looks like something is eating the plant , mine looks like that after topping and regrowing weird but i dont think thats the case here

I have topped them all but that doesn't explain the colours
