Yo RIU! Whats up guys...

So i got my rooted clones on the 4th december, they didnt look too good when i got them (leaves were burned and a bit crispy). So now their in canna coco and from what i can tell they was planted in soil, also the roots where thin and browny colour when i got them out which is terrible for a start i know... So they have been in for 5 days now and the growth is very slow! As soon as i placed them in coco i fed them 0.75ml per litre of A&B and 2ml per litre of rhizotonic aswel as a tiny drop of superthrive and have been repeating this every two days even though the coco was wet to the touch. They are under a 400W multi spectrum bulb and the temps are around 23 degrees C lights on and 16 lights off...

The new growth is VERY yellow but i cant be under feeding as im feeding half of recommended dosage! Do you think i am causing some sort of lock out due to the fact im watering too much? I went to water today and i think im gonna leave it till tomorrow. The leaves arnt droopy or anything so im gonna leave em until tomorrow. Also since they have dried out a bit i can see a bit of colour coming back into the new growth!

Also is this a factor?...when i got the clones the roots where in soil...now ive switched to coco im obviously feeding at a different PH (5.8) than soil, could this be the reason for slowed growth and yellowing due to the fact that the PH has changed.... Can you see how the leaves are curling under i think this is because im over watering but not too sure!
Heres a few pics anyway im sure somebody can help me out! Thanks very much in advance!!

Your temps sound a little low too, which could be part of the slow growth (73F, and 60F).
I have been trying to keep mine no lower than 73-75F, and it's growin' like a 'weed'.

Yo chucky them temps that your using are near enough exacly the same as mine?

Did you flush the coco? Also I think you're onto something there about the transfer from soil to Coco, maybe try a higher PH of say 6.0 or so then lower if it doesn't correct. Whats you're humidity?

Misread your reply chucky! I'll set the fan heater to make the temps like urs then see if it makes any difference! Theres hardly any humidity in there aswel could this be a big part of it? I think the fan heater outside the tent is drying all the humidity out

Thanks for the reply brother, no i didnt flush the coir as its canna and they flushing isnt needed...i thought that before soil to coco...i think it could definitely be playing a major part if they havnt been used to the 5.8 PH...last ones i got were hydro grown so there was no issues there. The humidity in there is low because its cold here and ive got a fan heater going which is drying the air out...ive got some wet towels in the room with a bucket of water but it aint bringing it up. Theres no reading on my dig hygrometer either which i no is bad!!

I have found that plants in dirt do better when put in coco that clones in rapid rooters/rockwool.
I am terrible at diagnosing other people's plant problems.

The best coco advice I have been given is to check the ppm of your nutes before feeding then check the run off.
If they are significantly lower, raise your ppm. If they are higher, flush to waste and check the ppm.

I see a few little burn (rusty) spots on a couple of leaves. I dont think this is why they look so ill.

I think those plants are too dry and hot. I would mist them immediately.

Move them away from the direct blast of that 400w until they look better. They just dont need that kind of power, when they are that young (and stressed).

Also, are you watering enough? Even in the pic the coco looks almost bone dry. Pots that size will dry out very quickly, you'll be needing to transplant pretty soon.

don't water to much while they are young.
feel the weight of the pot when watered then wait until they feel light then water but not completely dried out. as they grow increase the watering.
also i don't use nutes until they are established.

Thermometers only measure the temp around the probe.

One can easily be fooled with a reading that looks acceptable, only to find the localized temp around the plant to be much higher. Good placement of a thermometer can help to some degree but even then, temps will vary dramatically under a reflector.

The droppiness you see is excessive transpiration. The plant cells are drying out because they are loosing more water through their leaves than they are taking in through their roots.

Yo man, some of them leaves was like that when i got them... The 400W is about 3ft above them but i know where your coming from with to much light, i'll raise it higher, i just didnt wanna cause stretching thats all.. Thats just on the top layer it looks like that, an inch below and its very moist to the point where the coco sticks to ur finger...
I last waterd on the 6th but before that it was two days before on the 4th...i always water with plenty of run off aswel. Im going to get a bottle to mist the tent down tomorrow and try and get the humidity up!

Shes in shock dude!!! :joint::joint: plus get the night time temps upto about 20 ,everything will be fine.gl
Thanks man i'll get this changed asap!!

Thanks for the reply man, im just letting the coco dry out a bit to encourage the roots to find water! Im gonna water them tomorrow so they have had 3 full days without water...they aint drooping or anything

I placed my dig thermometer at canopy level and thats 23-24 C with the fan heater bringing 21 C in...

It is very hard to over water in coco. Are you giving soil advice?

23 degrees is fine

16 is too low for night time temp's,You can over-water co-co if u are not used to using it.gl
