Hey, what side of Tahoe? Used to live in SLT. If you like sushi, gotta hit Sato. And Shea is the best sushi chef I've known.

I'm south of Tahoe, over the "hill" (past Kirkwood).

Dude, you're driving too fast! One of the last times I took a run up to Tahoe to take care of some family business, I had this chick ON MY ASS, the whole way from K'wood. She finally passes me when we make the turn from 88 onto 89, right? So I'm like, "Whew, that wasn't fun." (I was rear-ended on my bike last year, I have a thing about cars coming up on me from behind.)
THEN, there's this big-ass black SUV coming up on me HARD. I'm thinking, "Oh fuck, not again." Following me, following me, I'm looking for a place to pull to the right so he can just go past me when all of a sudden he just blows right by! It's a CHP, and he flips on his lights and NAILS HER! I was goin' YEE HAW! Now THERE's a cop when ya need him. :D

(When this chick was on my ass I was doing about 75mph, that's pretty quick even for going through the Hope Valley, you know what I'm talking about.)

Hear hear. People wonder why I do some of the things I do (I've got a fat-ass lightbar, as you can see), one good trick if you're not sure whether or not they see you is to swerve, inside the lane of course, just track it side to side. Gets their attention most of the time. The cops, too, but they don't have a problem once I explain to them what I'm doing. They just say to be careful (no shit, there are cars out there that don't see me!).

I lived in SoCal for over 30 years. I've got some roots down there.

slt baby i used to live in bear valley
Every time we've talked about hitting the west side 89's closed for the season (yeah, should probably think about it when the roads are open). I've been around Tahoe from King's Beach down to Emerald Bay. Never been further west around the lake than that.
