California Light Works SS - 275 weed on the cheap...

Bought this awhile back & got a deal on an open box I did one grow with it & was pleasantly surprised at its performance for its 200w. Power draw at the time I was running two 3x3 tents my 340w Johnson cx-6 cob in the other tent , I'm retired on a fixed income & just got the news our medical premiums are now significant higher forcing me to converge outgoing expenses let's see what this little light can do ! The Strain is Jack Herer -x- BlackBerry kush called blackjack not to be confused with Nirvanas version this is from www.kingklonebrand.com & is clone only I will have a scrog & use megacrop , cal mag solo in a 3 gal smart pot using royal gold basement mix thanks for watching comments welcomed

clw was the first company i thought of going with years ago. they had that 440 with the t5 uvb tubes on each side. if i didnt have cobs, i would have chosen them.

I already had a cob light when I bought this light & it surprised me the results I got first grow which was candyland my financial situation isn't permanent by fall I'll fire the cob back up as well but for now things are kinda tight lol meanwhile I have this fascinated with getting the most out of this

welcome aboard my goal is a small economical grow than just about anyone can duplicate this will be my second grow with this setup the only changes is the strain & the basement mix last time I grew candy land & used tupur also my second megacrop grow

My growth is programming & I did a little training this morning the blurple takes a little getting used to I use a regular light to inspect the plant so I don't miss early signs of any problems maybe tomorrow I'll test fit the scrog

Looks good. A friend of mine has a CLW550. He just pulled 17 ounces from 2 NL scrogged. I’m leaning on getting one as well.

My light is the 550 cut in half overall construction is really good this is my second grow with this light eventually I want the optional spectrum control but its $170.00 I wish I would of bought the 550 instead of my 6- cob Johnson I know the c!w is blurple but the osram diodes perform for me that's part of the reason for doing this grow first time out this light gave me 1\4 lb. Of candy land I feel there is much more to be had here

Trial fitted the scrog , soon it will be time to leave it in place also fed Greenleaf says megacrop has like 6% cal mag so I'm gonna pull it for my next feeding , I'm mixing 3-1\2 grams megacrop per gal. Soon I'll increase that to 4 grams per gal. I can't wait to start filling the scrog

thanks for the kind words trying to keep things simple the only thing here I haven't used in the past is the basement mix

I think you'll like the CLW. I started as a newbie with the CLW SS440 (bought in 2016 before the 550 came out). The 440 is a great light for flowering 3x3. I thought I would upgrade to the 550 this year but I ended up going with the HLG 550 qb.

I’ve been running the 550 for a couple years now in my 2x4 tent and it really produces. I think you’ll like your light.

I could see where the 2x4 shape would be a good match for the 550

I've looked at the qb's how do you like it so far ? they seem to be the most bang for the buck

I'm gonna start filling the screen probably sooner than I had planned as I'm getting a pretty good growth rate

I'm only in early veg on first run with the qb so I can't compare it to the SS440 yet. I'm pretty sure I'll get more bud though with 480w qb. Seems like a great light and it's great not having the pink and purple, it's just bright white. My first few nodes are really close together to the point that all the leaves are bunched up. Just raised the light to hopefully get a little separation and I'll probably end up removing the lower nodes.

My other light has cobs & the white light is easier to check leaf color & for bugs CLW now has lights with white cobs , I got mine as an open box for if my memory is correct $320.00 I usually run 2 tents (3x3) but won't fire the other tent back up until probably this fall

decided to top one last time including the side branches , now the training starts I don't like to remove any fan leaves this early unless they're damaged or in the way for some reason

She looks a bit better today the topping is gonna slow her a bit but this will make a lot of bud sites & hopefully a full scrog
