Finally got my PPM meter.
I'm growing serious seed's chronic in soilless pro-mix/sunshine #4 from seed. This is also my first grow. It's been four weeks since they sprouted and I expect I will veg for another 3-4 weeks.
I came across a chart that lists the desired PPM of nute solutions as follows:
Early Vegging 300 to 400
Full Vegetation 450 to 700
Early Blooming 750 to 950
Full Mature Blooms 1000 to 1600
Up until now I was using Advanced Nutrients Sensigrow at approx 50% strength (I had started at 25% and worked up to 50%), but that gives me a PPM of approximately 1000 so when feeding today I diluted the nute solution down to approximately 600 ppm.
Is this what I should be doing? That is, using the nutes in the correct proportions until I hit the PPM sweet spot or should I just go back to using nutes at around 1/2 concentration?
Last question, when I measured the run-off water I had a ppm of about 1000. Is this from salt build up from excessive nute concentrations in previous waterings (I only got the ppm meter today). I use RO water. Should I flush next watering until the ppm of run-off is down to around 100-200 ppm?
I only had very, very minor signs of nute burn on the tips when I last did 50% strength. The odd lower leaf has yellowed, however, and there is an occasional spot on a leaf (nute lockout?).
Thanks
