cal/mag deficiency?

Hey guys,

I recently started my first grow with the stinkbud's aeroponics system. (I thought it was a great idea, but I do want to switch it to DWC or something similar to aeroponics after I get this grow down.) ANYWAY.

Setup:
4x4x8 secret jardin darkroom
600-watt aircooled hood
temps stay between 80-84 degrees due to weather
water temps stay between 75-80 degrees (I do use water ice blocks to cool down the water)

I have looked at all the charts and I think I have diagnosed the plants to have some sort of CAL/MAG deficiency.
I am into my second week with these plants and so far only two of them have this problem. (Please look at pictures below).

I am using 250mL Botanicare Grow Pro, 175mL Cal/Mag, and 550mL Liquid Karma. I then fill up the gallon jug with R/O water and then into the reservoir until the desired PPM readings. I didn't know that I wasn't suppose to add nutrients until 2-3 weeks after putting the seedlings into the system, but started them out with 500 PPMs. But there were no signs of toxic poisoning or anything. They looked super green and fresh, but I decided to flush out the system and started them at a lower PPM around 200-250, and that's when the rust brown spots started appearing. I then pushed it up to 500PPMs but it seems to still be appearing.

I think that's all the information needed, please respond and let me know what's up with my babies.

Strain: Chocolope

If you check out my "grow journal" I have more pics of the damage. These are the most recent spots showing up! please help!!

oh i see. should I use more cal/mag in my nutrient mix? or just add some cal/mag straight into the reservoir?

or should I strictly use magnesium ?

I would use a little epsom salt in the res, (mag-sufate). try 1/4-1/2 tsp per gallon dissolved in a few ounces of hot water.

make sure your room temps dont get too high. 80f is very high for hydro. keep your pH above 5.6 and below 6.2.

I would say you have a defficiency because you mixs your nutes before adding them to water.I assume that is what you ment in your description above. "I am using 250mL Botanicare Grow Pro, 175mL Cal/Mag, and 550mL Liquid Karma. I then fill up the gallon jug with R/O water and then into the reservoir until the desired PPM readings."
Hydro nutes come in a very concentrated formula, and unless diluted with water before mixing you can cause nutrient lockout.that is why hydro chems. usually have more than one part,i.e general hydro has 3 part system, advanced nutrients has a two part system, thats because the chemicals cannot be mixed in a concentrated form.
With your problem i would flush with plain water for a good day, then mix your nutes in a res,a gallon jug, doesnt matter as long as you dilute all chemicals in the water before adding more chemicals, also sounds like your little ones were growing just fine at 500 ppm there was no reason to back off on the nutes
just my 1.5 cents
