Cactus looking plants

I have viewed some pictures of plants that looked like cactus. Bud from bottom to top with no branches. Can anyone tell me how this is done. I'm running Mellon gum , Pineapple Express and red dragon. My space is limited and I wanna make the most of my flowering cycle. large branchy plants won't really work in my set up.

Are u talking about sog sea of green you cut off al branches prior to entering flower and bamn one big top cola

my plant looks simular to what your talking about,25 inches tall,6 main stalks, very few leaves,i dont know much about growing ecept what ive read in here, and it seems i did alot wrong,i think mine mainly looks this way because at 8 weeks flower,i trimed all the lower branchs off (6) and i keep most of the big leaf trimed off (not knowing before i found this site.that your not suposed to trim fans off, well i did,she isnt real tall or huge plant, but has some very yummy looking big buds that take up most of the stalks ,soil grow in 5 gal pot, outdoors
I should add,i dont know what it be like had i been on this site before i started growing ,shes now in 12 week of flower, and ive only been on this site about 4 or 5

trim and pinch to make a single apical nug, you can definitely apply those techniques. Kill all the lower shooters and suckers so all the energy is directed into a single cola. Pinching will reduce internodal distance, giving you that fat cactus look.

I believe people call it lollypopping.

The pics in referring to we're viewed on the web. Mellon gum was the strain. It was about to be harvested and in wondered how it's done. Would be perfect way to grow since I don't have much room. All the huge fan leaves are hogging up all the light. I have some cuttings in gallon pots a week into veg. I'm gonna experiment with them. I just wanted a direction to go this Mellon gum is fierce and I only bought 1 seed so I have to keep the mom healthy for more cuttings.

Dude,...The fan leaves are specifically designed to hog all the light. In fact, that is the only reason they exist.

I know that about the leaves. Without them photosynthesis can't happen. I didn't want the plant to turn into a bush. I use a. 3x 4 ft closet. Space is essential. Rather than 3 bushes I rather have 12 cactus. That was my point.

I was just trying to keep you from being mislead, after noting your post count. It seemed as though you were thinking about the leaves as wasted space, we get a lot of threads about people cutting off all the leaves, then wondering why they cant get it to grow.

Lol. I have seen some mutilated plants. But anyway. Space is critical and I want the most for my time. I'm using a 600 hps and cool tube. 800 cfm fan. 10 cfl 2700k with 2 four foot shop lites 6500k to meet spectral demands. Temps 78-83 lite on 62-70 off cycle. I'm gonna experiment with the cuttings see what works.
