Cabinet grow and 400w hps

i have 2 closets the double closet has the 400 and the single closet has a 250, but if well venterlated,will also take 400. it all about controling the heat. if you have a single closet a 250 hps should be ok for 3 to 4 plants. 6 plants for the double closet with 400 hps. how big is the closet?. any pics.

my cab is 26 deep x 36 wide x 40 high.....supposed to be designed to handle 9 plants.....I only have three in there now and its almost too much....though I have made no efforts to trim and keep tight structure, one 400W superHPS.....works like she's built! excellent results so far.....at least from my perspective....I aacknowledge many others with considerable time under their belt that would have lots to say to improve.....and over time I will try and leanr more and adapt better
Can i use a 400 HPS through the whole grow cycle--the prob I have is I have a flowering girl on 12/12 and I am growing Agani buds still veging and I am supplimenting them with Full Spectrim Floresances. My question is how much will I loose on the Afgani yield. After two weeks of this regiment they are getting wider but not Taller.
I agree--I have A conversion bulb MH. But the prob is I used bad timimg in overlaping my budding and growing cyle(I am a newby). One bulb makes it hard for me to choose between the HPS for betters yeild on my girls , or veg growth on my new plants. I have Florecent lights supplimenting , but I know this will buy me only a little more time.

It sounds like you are trying to flower one set of plants under 12/12 and grow another set under 12/12. it doesn't work like that. 12/12 triggers flowering regardless of the size of the plant. If you started your Afgani under 12/12 you are going to lose most (if not all) of your yield.

they are reasonably common now.... Fluorescent Grow Lights ..... I didn't pay this much for mine....but it certainly is a beast!

if i have a card board box with light reflective sheeting inside with 3 100 watts bulb and well ventelated will this grow my plants

I tried to veg with HPS for about a week or two. NOT RECOMMEDED! My plants started acting funny, leaves twisting, un-even growth, and purpling of stems. Once I put my MH back in, it started to look normal. If you have the proper vent, go for the 400MH for Veg. My 250MH ran ALOT cooler than 400HPS.
