Ca deficiency or Heat Stress

Hello All,

Not sure what's up with this problem. It gets 98-100 deg here on average.

Not sure if this is heat stress or a Ca, or Mag deficiency.

I haven't watered with Bloom much yet so I guess it could be P.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't get the image to post so I left a hyperlink.

Sorry for the bad pic, its a camera phone.

Thanx deesbarrett, heat stress is possible, but I doubt nute burn. I use allot of plain water.

I'm going to try some epsom salts in the water and foliar feed with it.

If that doesn't right it soon, I will flush.

Also the leaves are yellowing from the bottom up.

If anyone else wants to chime in it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

little hard to tell but i think it is heat stress or nute burn.

I will toss ideas with you since I have an identical issue. Personally I figured nutrient burn myself but you are saying you are using lots of plain water. Since I am never satisfied with an answer and too impatient to wait for one cure to work I treated my plants with 15ml Liquid calcium with a 10-0-0 rating, and 1.5 tsp of epsom salt in my hydro reservoir. So far mine aren't looking any worse, I will try and get some pics to illustrate. I switched to R/O water for my babies because of my setup and using basically 1/4 strength of the seedling recommendation on any products I added which are basically a general nutrient, the calcium and mg. I read seedlings really need their ca and mg. The R/O water and general nutrients have either.

Okay Lucky sounds good.

I foliar fed, and watered with a Epsom solution today, and will prob add some Cal-Mag tomorrow.

I didn't have this issue last year, however, I wasn't in pots, (same soil mix though) and I had added Epsom last year where's as this year I didn't.

All soil tests show no excess of NPK, so that shouldn't be it.

I also use Sea Kelp to help reduce heat stress.

If I don't see some improvement soon, I'll flush.

My soil does seem to hover around 7-7.2 ph though, and I have never been able to get it lower.

thanx for the reply

I look forward to hearing the results! I know I am getting pissed off trying to give my plants the optimal growth setting and then still encounter darkened leaf tip and on the odd edge is frustrating. So many of the darn problems these plants can have seem to show similar signs. I think we are on the right track with Ca/MG because you say you checked your NPK and although I can't check mine yet I did switch to the right water and used minimal nutrients so I don't see why I either of us would be experiencing nutrient burn (although my babies did get burned a little at the start) :D

Here are a couple pictures of my seedlings, sorry the camera is crap I can't zoom in clearly on the leafs that disntictly show that darkening of the tip and edge.

Also I know I shouldn't have more than one plant in a pot, those are bag seeds need to leave room for the white widow that is germinating now ;)

You're more likely to have the Ca/Mg issue as your not in soil. I'm in soil so the micro nutrients should be present.

But yeah, I'll let you know how it progresses.

Also, I have multiple strains, and only two are showing adverse side effects, although they were the ones I transplanted to the big pots first so that would make sense if its a possible nute lock or I flushed the micro nutrients out over time.

Yep you are right I am much more likely to have those are deficiencies. If you really don't think it is deficiencies then I strongly lean towards a nutrient lock out or burn. You seem really on the ball and babying your plants so you will know best. Nutrient lockout and burn can look similar :( just like the first stages of over watering and under watering look similar. I know you will figure it out I will keep checking back. Learning all about this hobby has become my primary concern as of late :hump:
