c02 generators? High alt low alt? What's difference?
I don't currently live in high altitude, but might some day. My new state has very high mountain areas and some low areas. I live in a low area. I have built a pretty awesome sealed room for the first time and need to figure out which type of c02 generator purchase. I am leaning towards Titan Controls because everyone says it is so easy to return and get a new one if I ever have issues and they are reliable.

I would be going propane as I imagine that will be far easier to source. I found a good deal on a high alt but I don't want to purchase if I will have issues not being high alt.

Googling I find nothing for answers.

I didn't use Google but went directly to the manufacturers website which had a search engine. I wouldn't mind using one in winter when the extra heat would be a benefit. Summers might be harder...

Good luck,

The only difference between a LP and NG gen of the same make is the orfice size/design of the actual burners themselves. The two gasses burn differently. The difference between the high altitude models is in the design of burners compinsating for less oxygen. The burners are designed to run leaner so that the lower oxygen level at altitude will not affect the proper and complete combustion of the fuel

Just like switching a gas stove from propane to NG. You mentioned that you're a flatlander now but may move to the mountains. Quite certain at that point that you could switch orifices then. Maybe even buy the high altitude ones just in case you need them later.

The only difference is that they run different fuel to air ratios to accommodate the differences in oxygen levels at high and low altitude.

They emailed me this earlier in the morning. Thanks for all the replies:

The main difference between low and high altitude CO2 generators is the 'jet burners' used to control the blue flame that creates the CO2. The low altitude 'jet' burners have a '77' drill orifice size an the high altitude 'jet burners' have a '67' drill orifice size. If you move to a high altitude (over 5000 feet) location, you'll need to change the 'jet burners'. Contact Titan Controls technical assistance line for more information.
