This mother is very bushy. I am thinking of cutting the lower branches because they receive no light. I was wondering. Can you take clones from the leaves you are cutting off anyways? Or would leaves from the top be better. Here are some pics. Any help is appreciated.View attachment 1471877View attachment 1471878View attachment 1471879

I do not have the level of expertise to do leaf cloning & I'm betting you don't either - are you talking about cloning off of cuttings from the lower portion of the plant? If thats the question, then the answer is that the lower branches are the best candidates for taking clones as they tend to be more receptive to that.

if she is your mother than you shouldn't be pruning you should be taking clones and start from the bottom as that is where the best hormone is located in a plant for fastest rooting. i have taken hundreds of cuttings of my mother and she still has a long way to go before retiring. you are aiming for bushiness in a mom so topping lst'ing and other methods to promote vigorous undergrowth are highly recommended. cant ever have to bushy of a mom plain and simple.
