Burying a 5 Gal. Bucket in the Gound?????

Is there a negative aspect to this (or positive), such as its lower to the ground therefore critters and insects can easily invade my girl....or maybe the ground temperature stays a little warmer at night and it is a good idea?????
Just trying to figure out where to put my girl while Im on Vaca (Stealthy like)
Advice appreciated
 
Why not just dig a 5 gallon size hole, fill with your preferred growing medium and plant in that? Then you won´t be unnecessarily restricting your roots.
 
Im not gonna transplant this girl again it would be like the 4th time.....she needs NO MORE STRESS trust me, so what do you guys think?
 
cut a hole in the bottom and put it in the hole i guess..roots are smart they'll figure it out:)

it would also make it more inconspicuous without the bucket in full view.
 
Yeah i was wondering about that but this is a fairly small plant and I really dont think (actually I know due to a Stupid mistake) that the root system does not even come close to the bottom of the bucket........long story...
 
I have never found transplanting a plant causes any stress at all. Au contraire, the girls go into turbo grow as roots penetrate the new soil.
 
ive read on here that so long as the main root ball (the biggest clumb under the stalk) stays intact, that the plant will survive a transport.
 
i did it many times...no problem there. i have one plant being pushed by the wind so i dug a hole and burried half of the bucket. and on my other plant as well i took out the pots and directly shoved them in soil adding more on top, just make sure to water them after doing these. btw there all in flowering
